The older I get, the more I stop caring about a higher paying residency. Sure, I’m only in preclinicals now and may fall in love with a specialty later, but I don’t have it in me to do a ton of extra curriculars and research in order to be more competitive. I’m a simple man.
Oh man, you just reminded me of something. When I was 7 or 8, there was a family with 3 daughters who moved in next door to us, and the oldest was my same age. Excited to finally have a girl to play with on my street (I had been the only girl playing with 10 boys, for years, so I was naturally kind of a tomboy).
I care about winning and doing well overall, not necessarily winning a given match or set of matches. I didn know about ranked play until I had already played a lot of unranked. And even when I wanted to play rank, I would enjoy unranked play enough that I would just stick with that..
The difference between your thought experiment and the issue at hand has to do with what one reasonably can and cannot perform. If a law requires someone to perform something or omit something they cannot, it is an immoral law.(Immoral based on the absolute standard mentioned previously) There are many laws that may be dumb but not immoral. If the law is they aren allowed to smile or laugh, it an immoral law that needs not be followed in my opinion.
One can be a racist and have that be a determining factor. But it’s unfair to characterize anyone with such a concern as racist. There are numerous reasons to be concerned about immigration. Except waiting hasn’t proved to work. Someone, something, needs to force change. Maybe it’s the FBI investigation that has the college sports world spooked.
The mass of an object increases as its speed approaches the speed of light. As its mass increases, the energy required to accelerate that object increases too. In practical terms, this means that accelerating an object to anywhere near the speed of light would require a fantastically ridiculous amount of energy, and we are nowhere near developing that kind of aerospace technology..
